The New Jersey Statewide Respite Care Program provides temporary or episodic relief to family caregivers of functionally impaired adults, such as older adults. The goal of this program is to relieve stress related to everyday caregiving responsibilities. Programs can be set up for many different situations: vacations, emergencies, and other times when a caregiver needs personal time. Qualifying criteria are New Jersey residence, 18 years of age or older, and meet specific income and resource requirements.
